|---|---|
| Google LLC (파이어베이스 — 파이어스토어 · 인증 · App Check) |
| GitHub, Inc. (GitHub Actions —

1. Summary
2. Information We Process
a. Your account — token and leaderboard number
Accounts in the Game have no username, no password and no email address. An account consists of the two values below. Both are random values drawn by your device's random number generator, so neither identifies you on its own.
- A 16-character token — the key to your account. Enter it on any device and that account's progress is restored there. Treat it like a password: do not share it. It is never published to the leaderboard. If you lose it, there is no way back into that account — nothing about you is attached to it, so the developer cannot recover it for you.
- A 12-digit leaderboard number — this doubles as your name on the leaderboard. There is no way to choose or change it. Because it is not a name that a person wrote, nobody can impersonate anyone or post abusive text with it.
An account is created in the three situations below. Simply launching the Game does not create one, and in builds without online configuration (such as the web demo) the account feature is switched off entirely.
- When you finish a run and your progress or score is stored
- When you press Show token on the account screen
- When you open the leaderboard screen — opening the leaderboard is taken to mean you want a place on it, so if you have no account one is created there and then and your best level is submitted as a single row. If you have not finished a run yet, that row reads level 0. If you would rather not appear on the leaderboard, simply do not open that screen; a row already submitted can be removed at any time via account deletion (section 8).
b. Values stored on the server (Firestore)
Once an account exists, the following values are stored in the developer's Firestore database. Storage is entrusted to Google Firebase (see section 5 below). Everything stored is a number or a random string; no name, contact details or other identifying information is included.
| Where | What | Who can read it |
|---|---|---|
| Account record | Leaderboard number; progress (current level, best level, highest level cleared, number of stages cleared, accumulated starting-coin bonus, best coin record, consecutive losses, the time progress last changed); the single best score submitted to the leaderboard; the random 12-character device tag of the device currently playing a run and the time it was claimed; and the scheduled deletion time | Only someone who knows the token — the record is named after the token, and queries that list records are blocked by the security rules |
| Public leaderboard | Leaderboard number; your best level; the time you reached it; and your rank — the token is never included. Per-run results (waves survived, coins left and so on) are not stored, and the rank is written only by the job that settles the leaderboard snapshot below | Anyone (this is what the Game's ranking screen shows) |
| Leaderboard snapshot | A copy of the top ten rows (leaderboard number, best level, time reached), the total number of people on the leaderboard, and the time the snapshot was settled — it exists so that the leaderboard is sorted and counted once every six hours rather than once per viewer | Anyone (these values are already public on the leaderboard itself) |
| Number reservation | A leaderboard number and a single timestamp recording when it was claimed — it exists so that two people never share a number | Anyone (it holds nothing but a timestamp) |
| Deletion ticket | The token of an account scheduled for deletion and the time it is to be erased — it is the evidence that the matching leaderboard row may be removed | Nobody — reads are blocked outright by the security rules |
The device tag exists so that when several devices hold the same account, only one of them plays a run at a time. It is 12 random characters drawn when the app is installed, and has nothing to do with any hardware identifier or advertising ID.
Two further things happen through Firebase whenever the Game reaches the server.
- Anonymous authentication — Firebase issues an anonymous account (a UID). It is not used to tell users apart (the token does that) but to reject requests that are not signed in, and it is not linked to any name or email address.
- App Check — in builds where it is enabled, Google reCAPTCHA sends device and browser signals to Google to verify that a request really came from this app. It exists to keep fabricated scores off the leaderboard.
The leaderboard is settled once every six hours on GitHub, not on the developer's own server — sorting and counting the leaderboard for every viewer would repeat the same work once per person. That scheduled job reads the whole public leaderboard, puts it in order, and writes the leaderboard snapshot in the table above along with each row's rank. The only data that passes through GitHub's servers is what is already public on the leaderboard (number, best level, time reached); tokens and account records never go near it. The snapshot is a copy of values anyone can already read, and the only new information it creates is the rank itself.
When the developer settles the table again by hand without waiting for the next scheduled run, the same job runs in the same place and processes the same values — nothing beyond what is already public on the leaderboard.
When you request deletion on the web — the account deletion page does not reach Firestore directly; it goes through a server operated by the developer at apt84rank.com. That request processes the token you type and your IP address, so that nobody can hammer the service with made-up tokens (five requests per IP per minute). The token is used only for the duration of that request and is not stored; the access itself is recorded only in the server log described in section 4.
c. Values stored on your device
So that you can pick up where you left off, the Game stores the following values in your device's local storage. Once an account exists, the progress values among them are also stored in the account record described in b above; they leave your device by no other route.
- Your account's 16-character token and 12-digit leaderboard number
- This device's 12-character tag — used to tell which device is holding a run
- How many times a token was entered incorrectly, and when the resulting lock expires
- The single best score you have on the leaderboard — used for "your record" on the ranking screen
- Current level, best level, highest level cleared, and number of stages cleared
- Accumulated starting-coin bonus, best coin record, and consecutive losses
- Whether a run is in progress and how far it has got (which wave), used to decide the level drop for a run you quit partway through
- The starting-coin bonus earned from a rewarded ad, which applies to your next stage only
- A count of game-overs, used to decide how often an interstitial ad is shown
- The time your progress last changed
- The display language you selected (Korean or English)
d. Advertising (Google AdMob) — advertising identifier
The Game shows advertising through Google AdMob. Ads appear in the three places below; rewarded ads play only when you tap the button yourself.
- Rewarded ad on the title screen — watching it increases your starting coins for the next stage
- Rewarded ad on the game-over screen — watching it undoes that run's level drop
- Interstitial ad on the game-over screen — once every three runs, as you leave the results screen
For advertising purposes, the Google AdMob SDK automatically collects and uses the following. Google handles this information as an advertising provider under its own policies. The developer does not receive or store it, does not use it to identify you, and sees only aggregate performance statistics in the AdMob console.
| Category | Details |
|---|---|
| Advertising identifier | Android Advertising ID (AAID / ADID) and iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) — a device-level value you can reset or delete at any time, not combined with your name or contact details |
| Device and app information | Device model, OS version, language and country settings, app version, and similar |
| Network information | IP address and the approximate location (country / city level) inferred from it — the Game requests no precise location permission such as GPS |
| Ad interaction records | How often ads were shown, whether they were clicked, and whether a rewarded ad was watched to the end |
This information is used to serve ads, grant rewarded-ad rewards, control how often ads appear, prevent invalid clicks (fraudulent traffic), and measure ad performance. It may be used for personalised advertising. Your choices are described in 7. Advertising Identifier and Your Choices below.
On iOS, an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt appears the first time you launch the app. You may decline and still use the Game and see ads; in that case ads are shown without the IDFA and are not personalised.
e. Information we do not collect
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers or anything else that identifies you — you are not asked for them even when an account is created
- Precise location (GPS), contacts, photos and media, microphone or camera — anything requiring a device permission of that kind
- Behavioural analytics or tracking data — the developer uses no analytics SDK
- Payment information — the Game has no in-app purchases
- Hardware identifiers — the device tag in 2(b) above is a random value drawn by the app itself
3. Purposes of Processing
- Saving your progress (levels and records) and restoring it the next time you play
- Continuing your progress after a reinstall or on another device — opening your account with the token and reading the progress stored on the server
- Submitting to and displaying the leaderboard — only the number and the score are public
- Ensuring that, when several devices hold the same account, only one plays a run at a time — two at once would overwrite each other's progress
- Preventing fabricated scores — anonymous authentication, App Check where enabled, and server rules that reject results the Game's own rules could not produce
- A short lock that stops incorrect tokens from being submitted over and over
- Difficulty adjustment — the coins you kept and the wave you reached are used on your device to decide the next stage's level
- Remembering your display language
- Serving ads and granting rewarded-ad rewards, controlling ad frequency, preventing invalid clicks, and measuring ad performance — using the information in 2(d) via Google AdMob
The information is not used for any other purpose. Should the purpose change, notice will be given and consent obtained in advance.
4. Retention Period
- Your account and the progress in it: kept until you ask for it to be deleted. Once you do, Firestore's TTL feature erases the whole account one month later. Within that month, starting a run or opening the leaderboard screen on a device that still holds the token — or logging in with the same token, or pressing undo on the deletion page — cancels the deletion and everything comes back (see section 8).
- Your row on the public leaderboard: your single best level remains until you request deletion, at which point it is removed immediately — it does not wait for the month to pass.
- Your row inside the leaderboard snapshot: the snapshot is rebuilt in full once every six hours, and a removed row drops out at the next rebuild. Until then it remains in the last settled snapshot and may still be visible on the ranking screen, so a row stays in the snapshot for up to six hours after it leaves the leaderboard itself (longer if the scheduled run is delayed).
- Number reservation: this remains after the account is gone. It holds nothing but the timestamp at which the number was claimed and identifies nobody; it exists so that the number is never handed to somebody else and mixed up with old records.
- Deletion ticket: removed the moment a deletion is undone; otherwise erased by TTL together with the account one month later.
- Values stored on your device: they disappear when you uninstall the app or clear its stored data. Your token goes with them, so write it down first if you intend to keep using the account.
- Access records for the web deletion endpoint: the time of the request and the IP address are kept in the server log to prevent abuse, and are deleted automatically once Cloud Logging's default retention period (30 days) passes. Tokens are not written to the log.
- The anonymous authentication UID: retained by Firebase Authentication under its own retention policy, and not linked to your Game account or leaderboard row.
- The advertising identifier and other ad-related information: retained by Google under the AdMob and Google advertising retention policies. The developer keeps no copy. Deleting or resetting the advertising ID on your device breaks the link to earlier records.
Information whose retention period has expired, or whose purpose has been fulfilled, is destroyed without delay; electronic files are deleted by technical means that make them unrecoverable.
5. Third Parties and Processors
The Game does not sell your personal information. However, account and leaderboard storage and the advertising are provided through the companies below, and the information described in section 2 is passed to them in the course of that.
| Company | What is entrusted or provided |
|---|---|
| Google LLC (Firebase — Firestore, Authentication, App Check) |
Storing and retrieving account records and progress, the public leaderboard, the leaderboard snapshot, number reservations and deletion tickets; anonymous authentication; blocking fraudulent requests — the information in 2(a) and 2(b) |
| GitHub, Inc. (GitHub Actions — scheduled job) |
The six-hourly job that settles the leaderboard and writes the leaderboard snapshot and each row's rank — it processes only what is already public on the leaderboard (leaderboard number, best level, time reached); tokens and account records never go near it |
| Google LLC (Google AdMob) | Serving ads, granting rewarded-ad rewards, and measuring ad performance — the advertising identifier (ADID / IDFA) and the other information in 2(d) |
How these companies handle the information is described in their own policies.

Transfer abroad: accounts and the leaderboard are stored on servers operated by Google Firebase outside Korea (including in the United States), and advertising is likewise processed on that company's overseas servers. The job that settles the leaderboard runs on servers operated by GitHub, Inc. (United States), and the only data transferred there is what is already public on the leaderboard (number, best level, time reached). The recipients are Google LLC (United States) and GitHub, Inc. (United States); the items transferred, the purposes and the retention periods are those set out in sections 2, 3 and 4. You may refuse the transfer relating to your account and the leaderboard by deleting your account, and the transfer of your advertising identifier by deleting it or refusing tracking on your device. Neither limits your use of the Game in any way — every part of the Game can be played without an account.
6. Automatically Collected Information and Cookies
- The Game uses no cookies and does not automatically collect your behaviour and send it to the developer. The only things that reach the server are the values listed in 2(b).
- For advertising, the Google AdMob SDK automatically collects the information in 2(d) and uses identifiers (such as the advertising ID) that serve a similar role to cookies. Google is the controller of that processing, and you can limit it as described in section 7.
- Playing the Game requires no internet connection. Network traffic occurs when the account or leaderboard is used and when ads are fetched; with no connection, your progress simply stays on your device and play continues as normal.
- App installation, updates and crash reporting are handled by Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS) under their own policies; the developer receives no information from them that could identify you.
7. Advertising Identifier and Your Choices
You can reset or delete your advertising identifier yourself in your device settings, and opt out of personalised advertising.
- Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads (on some devices Settings > Google > All services > Ads), where you can choose Reset advertising ID or Delete advertising ID. Once deleted, no advertising ID is passed to apps.
- iOS: under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, turning off tracking for Coin Defense stops the IDFA from being provided. Declining the ATT prompt on first launch has the same effect.
- Either way, ads may still appear but will not be personalised, and your use of the Game is not restricted in any way.
- Ad settings for your Google account can also be managed at Google My Ad Center.
8. Your Rights — Deleting Your Account
You may at any time request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of the processing of your information. You can also delete it yourself:
- Delete from the app: press Delete account on the Account screen.
- Delete without the app: enter your 16-character token on the account deletion page and the same thing happens. This works even if you have already uninstalled the app, as long as you have the token. The request passes through a server operated by the developer; what is processed there is described under When you request deletion on the web in 2(b) above.
- What deletion does: immediately, you are removed from the public leaderboard and the token is cleared from that device (your row stays in the leaderboard snapshot for up to six hours — see section 4). One month later, the account and its progress are erased permanently. In between, undoing the deletion brings everything back; after the month it cannot be recovered. All that remains afterwards is the number reservation described in section 4 (a single timestamp).
- When a deleted account comes back on its own — please read: during the one-month grace period, simply starting a run or opening the leaderboard screen on a device that still holds the token cancels the scheduled deletion and puts your leaderboard row back. Continuing to play on that device is taken to mean you want to keep the account. The same applies when you log in with the token or press undo on the deletion page. If you really do want the account gone, uninstall the app or clear its stored data on that device after requesting deletion, so that the token is gone too — without the token that device can no longer revive the account, and it will be erased on schedule a month later. If you have entered the same token on other devices, clear those as well.
- Deleting the records on your device: on Android, Settings > Apps > Coin Defense > Storage > Clear data; on iOS, delete the app. Your token is erased along with them, while the account on the server remains — so delete the account first, or write the token down, if you want both gone.
- If you have lost your token: there is no way to identify that account, because no name or email is attached to it. Nothing in that account points to a person; uninstalling the app removes the records on your device, and the account on the server simply stays there, connected to no device.
- Deleting the advertising identifier or opting out of personalised ads: you can do this yourself at any time, as described in section 7.
- Requests by email: contact the address in section 9 and action will be taken without delay and the outcome reported back to you. Note that identifying an account requires its token.
9. Privacy Officer and Contact
Questions, complaints, remedies and deletion requests concerning the handling of personal information may be addressed as follows, and will be answered promptly and in good faith.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Privacy officer | The developer of Coin Defense |
| tatajoon1212@gmail.com |
You may also contact the following Korean authorities regarding privacy infringements.
- Privacy Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr / 118)
- Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (kopico.go.kr / 1833-6972)
10. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed primarily at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. No name, email address or date of birth is requested even when an account is created, so there is no point at which personal information is taken from a child. If we learn that a child under 14 has provided information without the consent of a legal guardian, that information is destroyed without delay.
Because the Game's target age group does not include children, AdMob is configured so that the advertising is likewise not directed at children.
11. Security Measures
- The token that opens an account is an 80-bit random value drawn by your device's random number generator, so it cannot be guessed.
- Account records cannot be listed or enumerated — the server rules block it, so only someone who knows a token can open that one account.
- The public leaderboard never contains tokens, and deletion tickets cannot be read at all.
- The leaderboard snapshot and each row's rank cannot be written by anyone under the server rules — only the six-hourly job that settles the leaderboard may write them, so there is no way to declare yourself first place.
- Server requests must pass anonymous authentication, and in builds with App Check enabled only requests from the genuine app get through. Results the Game's rules could not have produced are rejected by the server rules.
- Entering a token incorrectly several times locks entry briefly, and the lock grows longer with each further mistake.
- All communication takes place over encrypted channels (HTTPS).
- No password is collected, and the developer stores no names or contact details.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised in line with changes in law or in the Game. Any revision will be announced on this page together with its effective date and what changed.
Revision history
- September 2, 2026 — The leaderboard is now settled once every six hours instead of once an hour. It is still settled by the same GitHub Actions scheduled job. The time a deleted row lingers in the snapshot changed from up to one hour to up to six hours in sections 4 and 8. Neither what is processed nor where it is transferred changed.
- August 27, 2026 — The leaderboard is now settled once an hour so that everyone reads the same table. Added the new leaderboard snapshot and each row's rank to the table in 2(b), and recorded in 2(b) and 5 (entrustment and transfer abroad) that this work runs as a GitHub Actions job and what it processes. A leaderboard row no longer stores waves survived, coins left, whether the run was cleared, or a sort score — it now holds the number, best level, time reached and rank. Noted in sections 4 and 8 that a deleted row remains in the snapshot for up to one hour. Also recorded that opening the leaderboard screen alone creates an account and places you on the leaderboard (summary and 2(a)), and that starting a run or opening the leaderboard on a device that still holds the token cancels a scheduled deletion — with guidance on clearing the token if you really want the account gone (sections 4 and 8).
- August 26, 2026 — The web account-deletion endpoint now goes through a server operated by the developer instead of reaching Firestore directly (to prevent abuse and the billing that comes with it). Added the token and IP address processed there, and the server log's retention period, to sections 2(b), 4 and 8.
- August 26, 2026 — The leaderboard and progress backup moved from Google Play Games Services / Game Center to the Game's own token accounts and a Firebase (Firestore) leaderboard. Removed everything about the Play Games connection and saved games, and described the token, the leaderboard number, the values stored on the server and their purposes, retention, processors and transfer abroad in the summary and sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 11. Section 8 now explains account deletion in the app and on the web, and the one-month grace period.
- August 23, 2026 — The Game now backs progress up to the saved game attached to your Play Games / Game Center account and reads it back. Added the values stored in your account, along with their purpose, retention, and how to delete them, to the summary and sections 2(b), 3, 4, 5 and 8; added the current run's wave, the time progress last changed, and the player identifier the saved game was fetched for to the values stored on your device; and updated section 3 for the new rules that decide when your level rises and falls.
- August 23, 2026 — The Game now connects automatically at launch when the device has an approved account, submitting your best level to the leaderboard without a button press; reflected this in the summary and sections 2(b), 3 and 8, and added a best level not yet submitted to the leaderboard and a consecutive-loss count to the values stored on your device.
- August 20, 2026 — Google AdMob advertising was added to the Game. Added the advertising identifier (ADID / IDFA) and other ad-related items to the data we process, along with their purposes, the third parties involved, and your choices (section 7); updated the list of values stored on your device (rewarded-ad bonus, game-over count, language setting).
- August 19, 2026 — First issued.
